Fredrick M. Marx’s experience extends to all aspects of employee benefits law, including ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code. Mr. Marx also has extensive experience in the representation of public employee plans. Mr. Marx has performed exhaustive employee benefit legal audits for clients, and has counseled on all facets of single employer and multiemployer pension and health benefit operations, including executive compensation, health care cost management, fiduciary compliance, employee benefit litigation, and withdrawal liability arbitration and litigation.
Mr. Marx has also designed and drafted numerous single employer, public employee and multiemployer employee benefit plans, including employee stock option plans. He is knowledgeable about employee benefit issues in Canada as well as in the United States.
Mr. Marx has frequently spoken at professional organizations, including the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, the National Conference of Unions & Employee Benefits Funds, and the American Alliance Conference, Ltd. He is co-author of several articles about business law and employee benefit legal compliance issues.
Mr. Marx is a summa cum laude graduate of Dickinson College, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he received the Order of the Coif for highest scholastic achievement.
Mr. Marx is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Maryland. He is also admitted to practice before a number of United States District Courts and Courts of Appeal.
